Republic of Indonesia Imports of Rice to Corn during 2018

Lensa Aktual. The government decided to import several food commodities, ranging from rice to corn. This is done throughout 2018.

Import decisions are made to meet domestic needs. For example, 2 million tons of rice imports are carried out because the rice harvest in the area has been depleted and the amount of production is still considered lacking.

Then, the government also imports industrial salt and sugar. Each is done so that food and beverage companies can still produce.

Finally, the government decided to import corn for animal feed. Because the supply of corn has been depleted and has caused prices to crawl up.

This is a kaleidoscope of commodities imported by the government throughout 2018
