Sandiaga's promise about Rice: Never be dictated by the Food and Import Mafia

Jurnal Hub. In Indramayu, West Java, candidate number 02 vice president Sandiaga Uno listened to a number of complaints from residents. One of them was from the Chairperson of the Paddy Milling Association (Perpadi) in the Indramayu-Cirebon area of Ferry Priatna. He requested Sandi so that Indonesian rice should not be eroded by imports from other countries.

"Do not, Sir, our rice is not selling because of the rise of imported rice. We have had difficulty selling rice because the price is high, while imported rice is sold at cheap prices," Feri said in a written statement on Tuesday.

This was revealed at a joint meeting with Sandi at the rice factory of CV Fajar Niaga in Widasari Village, Widasari District, Jalan Simpang Tiga, Desa Kongsi Jaya, Indramayu, West Java, today.
Receiving this input, Sandiaga stated that he and Prabowo Subianto would conduct three self-sufficiency, namely food, water and energy. Especially for food self-sufficiency, Sandi will take a policy of stopping imports when farmers harvest.

"Food self-sufficiency is our program in 2019. In addition to the absorption of rice from farmers in Bulog, local rice is prioritized. We are not dictated by the food mafia and import mafia. Don't let the Vietnamese farmers prosper, not Indramayu farmers. Number one is the people's stomach, number two president, "explained Sandi.

Sandi said that if allowed by Allah SWT to be a servant of the Indonesian people, Prabowo-Sandi would focus on providing employment and prices for affordable and stable staple goods. Including prices of fertilizers and medicines for farmers.

"We will pay attention to 182 thousand rice mills, including capital and technology, so that the workforce is absorbed and is able to minimize production costs," he concluded.
